Gymboree Play & Music Thousand Oaks - Stay Healthy Play Healthy

April 25th, 2020 - Latest Update

Hello Families!

We hope you are doing well and are staying healthy. We have received some questions regarding when we might be reopening our in-person store and what the new operational procedures will be like when that happens. We want to make sure you have an update as to where we are at.

Questions: When will we re-open our store and how will the in-store processes/procedures be different when we re-open?

Answer: The short answer is, we don't know. We hesitate to communicate any specific date for our reopening since we really don't know. When we re-open will depend on what parameters are required/advised by state and local health officials. Anything we plan for and create now is speculation. Preschool age facilities may have different guidelines and timelines than other businesses and, for the safety of our families and children, we would not want to rush into opening in person just for the sake of opening.

Here’s what we do know – as soon as we have more information, we’ll be providing it to you. If you don’t already, please follow us on social media @Gymboree.TO for the most up to date news, activities, and updates as they roll out. You’ll always be the first to know. We also know that we’re creative! This has thrown us a curve. Just as I’m sure this scenario has thrown you all for a loop as well. We’re all adapting together. We’ve already been able to put together a brand-new online curriculum for our members. We’ll adapt as we need to so that we can best meet your families’ needs as things start to reopen. That might look a little different, but we plan to keep moving forward in the new normal.

How we design our operations will depend on the guidance from state and local health officials. We will also be looking for guidance from our corporate office, suggestions from other Gymboree locations, and cues from other early childhood development facilities. There are so many things we can speculate on right now, but we can’t say for certain what operations will look like exactly. We imagine temperature taking will be a part of any new check-in procedures and we may have to get creative on how we will incorporate social distancing. We may create smaller class sizes or groups inside our facility. There are so many things we could do. Leave that worry to us.

It is our intention to create the safest and cleanest facility possible when we do re-open for the safety of all our families, their loved ones, as well as our staff and their loved ones and our broader Conejo Valley community at large.

We can't wait to see our families in person as soon as possible, and we are designing online content so we can remain active and connected with our families and bridge the gap while we are all staying at home. If you’re interested in joining us in our online classes, visit the online classes page by clicking here to learn more. We appreciate our community's continued support and we can make it through this time together.

Ms. Lina

Dear Gymboree Play & Music Thousand Oaks Families,

As you all know, things have been rapidly changing this week. We have been closely monitoring official information from the CDC and the World Health Organization. As advised, we have made the decision to suspend all in-store activities effective now through April 1st. We want to be sure that we’re doing our part to ensure the safety and health of this community that we all know and love.

We are working to support our families while being extremely cautious to help keep our community members safe. We plan to reopen with our regularly scheduled activities on April 1st. In the meantime, in lieu of in-store activities, we are going to take our membership experience to the virtual world. We will be sending out daily emails with online classes, home activities, and more to our members.

As long as your membership is active, you will be receiving daily emails with classes for you and your little one to enjoy in the safety of your own home. This means that in these anxious and uncertain coming days, you can provide consistency for your child. You can use this material while you practice safe social distancing and your routine won’t be interrupted. Children at this age are learning at a rapid rate every single day and our intention is to allow you to continue to virtually come to classes, so your children won’t fall behind in their progress. We want to help support them in continuing their learning path!

As we’ve already seen in so many ways, small businesses are being greatly impacted during this pandemic. We wanted to take a moment and let our customers know how much we appreciate their support, presence, and business during this difficult time. We are thankful to have members like you to go through this experience with. We are hopeful that we’ve found a safe way to keep your little ones playing and learning while keeping our community safe.

We will continue to keep our members up to date via email and social media. We appreciate you trusting us with providing normalcy, routine and consistency in your children’s lives during this time!

Dear Gymboree Play & Music Thousand Oaks Families,

As we monitor the ongoing news about COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we want to reassure you that the health and safety of our members, families, and staff are our first priority. You may have seen a message go out recently from Gymboree Corporate, but we want to address directly what’s being done at our local store. We continue to closely monitor official information from the CDC and the World Health Organization. We’re following the lead of the local school districts and we are monitoring the situation and making decisions every day about what’s best for our members, staff, and local community. We would like to reassure families that they can still come in and play. We are taking extra precautions and preventative measures for your family. We are being overly cautious in every preventative measure that we take.

News like this can create feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. This is completely understandable. Consistency in uncertain times is good for little ones. We’d love for you and your children to be able to confidently continue to attend classes knowing that we are making your health and safety a HUGE priority. This way your family can stay healthy and your routine isn’t interrupted. Children at this age are learning at a rapid rate every single day. During times like this, it’s important to maintain consistency where you can and where it’s safe to. We are working to ensure that our location is a safe place. This allows you to continue to come to classes so your children won’t fall behind in their progress. They learn every day and we want them to continue on that path.

Luckily, our class sizes are small and controllable. This means that the policies we are instituting to keep our facility clean and protect all of our customers are manageable.

We’ve upgraded our already stringent cleaning procedures. Gymboree Play & Music is already known for being the cleanest place in town. We have temporarily minimized floor props. We have temporarily discontinued the sharing of any props. We have made sure that hand sanitizer and wipes are provided throughout the play area for your convenience. In addition to our normal daily sanitizing of surfaces and equipment, we are disinfecting these surfaces and equipment inside the gym in between each class.

Earlier this month, the EPA (the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) released a list of products approved to kill COVID-19, our cleaner is on this list! We use Clorox Commercial Peroxide Cleaner, attached here is the full list for those interested. List of EPA Products That Kill Coronavirus

We are having all members and children sanitize their hands as they enter our location. We are actively reminding members to cover their coughs and sneezes (into elbows), and sanitize after, as well as to avoid touching their faces as much as possible.

All members who are unwell are asked to remain home. Staff are instructed to remain home if unwell. We are taking our sick policy very seriously. Members and staff who have a fever or aren’t feeling well are instructed to stay home until they are healthy. We will be asking members who appear unwell to leave and rejoin us when they are feeling well. We do this because we want all of our members to be confident that they are entering a healthy environment for themselves and their children.

As always, our memberships are unlimited classes. If you miss a class, you can come in at any time when you are well to take a class that fits in your schedule and join back into the fun.

For over 43 years, we have been providing world-class programs for children ages 0 -5. Please be assured that continuing your trust in us is our top priority! Please feel free to check back on this page www.Gymboree.TO/Coronavirus for ongoing updates on the topic. Thank you!

Sincerely,

James and Susan Nagy, Owners
